2026 Concrete and Paving Program

The City of Yorkton will begin seasonal concrete and asphalt paving work in May 2026 as part of its annual infrastructure maintenance program. These improvements help enhance safety, maintain roadway and sidewalk conditions, and extend the life of City infrastructure.

Project schedule

  • Concrete Replacement Program: May–June 2026
  • Asphalt Paving Program: May–August 2026

Construction schedules are weather-dependent and may change based on site conditions and contractor availability.

Project details

  • Concrete Replacement Program
    Repair and replacement of sidewalks, curbs, and gutters, with priority given to areas with with sidewalk uplifts or trip hazards, as well as areas that align with current and future paving work.
  • Asphalt Paving Program
    Milling and resurfacing of selected road segments. During a mill and overlay, the top layer of worn asphalt is removed and replaced with new asphalt to improve the road surface and extend the life of the street.

    Sawcutting and removals begin June 4, 2026 at the following locations in order:

    • York Road East (Mayhew to McBurney
    • Henderson Street West (Betts to First)
    • Laurier Avenue ( Independent to Simpson)
    • Simpson Street (Laurier to Alley Crossing)
    • Fifth Avenue S (King St to End)
    • Betts Avenue ( Dunlop to Catherine)
    • Ball Road (small piece along the side of 164 Industrial)
    • Wellington Ave (193-197 Wellington)
    • Dunlop Street East (232 2nd Ave)
    • Duncan Street W (Myrtle to 1st)
    • 6th Ave N (small piece at 92 6th Ave)
    • Booth Street ( Maple to 124 Booth)
