York Road Reconstruction
The City of Yorkton has partnered with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure (part of the Urban Highway Connector Program) for the reconstruction of York Road from Gladstone Avenue to Highway 9.
Phases 1, 2, and 3 are now complete, and the roadway will be open from Highway 9 to Second Avenue North.
Phase 4 is starting in the spring of 2024 (April 1st, 2024). This phase is expected to take approximately two and half months to complete, weather permitting and barring any unforeseen circumstances.
Road closures along York Road are now from First Avenue North to Myrtel Avenue, with a detour in place on Second Avenue for local traffic and vehicles accessing businesses along York Road.
Large equipment and traffic looking to access Highway 16 towards Saskatoon, can follow our Heavy Vehicle and Dangerous Goods Route Map.
