Rules and Safety
- City of Yorkton outdoor rinks are not supervised.
- Users understand and acknowledge that there may be risks in using the outdoor rinks.
- Use of protective equipment is strongly recommended.
- Outdoor rinks are closed and not safe to use when nets are not present.
- Lights are on from dusk until 10:30 p.m. nightly.

January 3, 2024 - ODR Update
January 3, 2024 - Knights of Columbus, Heritage Heights and Ukrainian Pioneer Park
Heritage Heights Park is ready for skating!
Other outdoor rinks are still being established. Please stay off if posted "closed".
- Two hose floods were completed today at the Knights of Columbus Park outdoor rink.
- Two hose floods were completed today at Heritage Heights Park outdoor rink.
- Lights are on at Heritage Heights and it is ready for skating.
Skate with caution as there are some lumps and bumps to be smoothed out yet. - Nets will be placed at Heritage Heights and Knights of Columbus for the upcoming weekend.
- Preparation on the Ukrainian Pioneer Park (UPP) was completed today and is ready for its first spray application tomorrow.
- Silver Heights and Weinmaster outdoor rinks will be prepared soon.

December 29, 2023 - Knights of Columbus and Heritage Heights
Outdoor rinks are still being established. Please stay off until nets are placed and lights are turned on.
Work continued at the Knights of Columbus Park outdoor rink:
- One spray application was completed today.
- One hose flood was completed today.
Work progresses well at Heritage Heights Park outdoor rink:
- A solid base layer has developed.
- Hose flooding will continue to build the ice surface.

December 28, 2023 - ODR Update
December 28, 2023 - Knights of Columbus and Heritage Heights
Outdoor rinks are still being established. Please stay off until nets are placed and lights are turned on.
Work is underway at the Knights of Columbus Park outdoor rink:
- Rink boards were packed with snow to help prevent water from running out of the rink into the park.
- Inside the rink, the snow was back bladed to smooth out any uneven areas to prepare the base for spraying.
- Where there was bare asphalt, snow was brought in from the park area and placed to provide a base for the water to freeze into.
- One spray application was completed today.
- Weather permitting, work will continue to build the base layer to ready it for hose floods soon.
