  • December 16, 2025 ODR Update

Flooding has started at Weinmaster rink! Although we are still waiting on specific parts to get the hydrant repaired right at the rink, staff from Public Works helped us out with a water truck, and the first few layers have been put down on the rink. This will continue until replacement parts for the hydrant arrive and get installed.

Weinmaster rink is not ready for skating yet. Please stay off until the rink can be fully flooded and is safe for use.

All other outdoor rinks are flooded and ready for use!

November 27, 2025 - UPP Outdoor Rink and Silver Heights

Outdoor rinks are still being established. Please stay off if posted "closed".

Our team has officially started work on this season’s outdoor rinks! With the mild weather and lack of snow, we’re taking a careful, tactical approach to build a solid ice base.

    This year, crews are:

    • Using slush products to seal and build the base
    • Closing gaps around the boards
    • Applying leftover white paint from last year’s crokicurl setup as an experiment — and with the sunny days we’ve had, it proved helpful in holding the thin layers of ice to the asphalt
    • Taking advantage of early-morning temperatures below –8°C by adding light mist layers daily to slowly build ice

It’s a slower process than usual, but everything is progressing well.

Stay tuned for updates — more development is set to begin next week!
