Kinsmen Arena Ice Systems Upgrades

The City of Yorkton is undertaking a renovation project at the Kinsmen Arena to extend the longevity of the ice systems for future years. Approved as part of the 2023, 2024, and 2025 capital budgets, this project will entail:

  • The removal of the existing rink system, including boards, glass, player benches, spectator seating, and the concrete arena floor.
  • Removal and replacement of the ground soils, forming a strong, solid base for the new arena slab floor.
  • Installation of new rink systems, including the concrete arena floor (complete with new refrigeration piping), new rink boards, arena glass, player benches, spectator seating, and other arena amenities.
  • Installation of dehumidification for the arena
  • Code and ice plant upgrades

This project was approved and funding allocated following the Gallagher Centre Renewal Project, and in addition to the Westland Arena Ice Plant Upgrades Project, which was completed in 2023.
