Grand Opening of Heritage Heights Pickleball Court Expansion
The City of Yorkton, together with Yorkton Pickleball, held the official grand opening of the Heritage Heights Pickleball Court Expansion. The celebration took place on Saturday, September 6, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Heritage Heights on McBurney Drive.
The event featured live demonstrations and mini clinics, offering community members of all ages and skill levels the opportunity to learn and experience the game.
We are grateful for all those who came out to enjoy the grand opening with us! Thank you to Yorkton Pickleball as well for their contribution towards this great community recreation project!

Here’s a look at what’s been completed so far:
- Holes were bored for future net installation, with plywood placed to protect the asphalt surface during the process.
- The courts were cleaned and prepped for finishing.
- Self-levelling patches were applied where needed.
- The first layer of black acrylic surfacing was completed.
- The blue pickleball and tennis layouts, patterns, and lines were applied.
- A green acrylic coating was added to complete the playing surface.
- Final game lines were painted.
- Nets and poles have now been installed.
With this, the project is essentially complete! However, the courts need at least a week to properly cure. To celebrate, we’ll be hosting a Grand Opening — meaning the courts will remain closed until that day. Stay tuned for details!

We are thrilled to share that fencing installation around the new courts is now complete at the Heritage Heights Pickleball Expansion! This marks another exciting milestone in the project and brings us even closer to a fully finished, ready-to-play facility.
The new fencing not only defines the court areas but also enhances player safety and adds to the overall functionality of the expanded site. Stay tuned for more updates as we near the finish line!

Another exciting milestone is underway at the Heritage Heights Pickleball Expansion!
Crews have begun installing fencing around the new courts, bringing us one step closer to a completed and ready-to-play facility. The fencing will help define the court areas, enhance player safety, and contribute to the overall functionality of the expanded site.

We are excited to share that paving is now complete for the Heritage Heights Pickleball Court expansion! This marks a major milestone in the project, bringing us one step closer to welcoming more players to this space.
Next, the freshly laid asphalt will need to cure for approximately two weeks. This curing period is essential to ensure a strong and stable surface before applying the final court surfacing and line painting.

Exciting progress is being made at the Heritage Heights Pickleball Expansion site!
Paving work is now officially underway. Crews have begun laying the base asphalt layer across both the existing and newly built-up areas.
Weather permitting, paving will continue over the coming days, bringing us one step closer to a more accessible pickleball space for our community.

Proof Roll on Existing Asphalt
Over the past week, crews completed a proof roll on the existing asphalt surface to assess its structural integrity and suitability for reuse. This process involved running heavy equipment over the area to identify any weak or soft spots. The results were encouraging and will help guide the next steps in surface preparation.
North Side Build-Up Underway
Significant progress has also been made on the north side of the development, where crews are actively working to build up the subgrade in preparation for future paving.
Progress continues on the Heritage Heights Pickleball Court Expansion project. Crews are currently focused on the build-up and compaction work on the north side of the facility. This phase involves preparing a stable foundation to support the future courts and ensure long-term durability and safety..

The original acrylic surface has been removed, and earthwork is currently in progress to prepare the site for the paving of 3 pickleball courts.

Fence removal is now underway at the Heritage Heights Pickleball site. This is an essential step to allow for the build-up and compaction of the north side of the facility as part of the planned expansion.
