The Traffic Signal Upgrade Project aims to enhance traffic flow, improve safety for both motorists and pedestrians and modernize the current traffic signal system. This project reflects the City’s commitment to maintaining and improving our infrastructure to meet the needs of our growing community.

The tentative start date for this project is August 12, 2024. The project is anticipated to last approximately 4 – 6 weeks, weather-dependent.

Traffic Accommodation Plan:

To minimize disruption and ensure safety during the project, a comprehensive traffic accommodation plan has been developed. Key points include:

  • Temporary Traffic Signals: Temporary signals will be installed to manage traffic flow efficiently.
  • Detours and Signage: Clear signage and detour routes will be in place to guide motorists around the construction zone.
  • Pedestrian Access: Safe and accessible pathways will be maintained for pedestrians at all times.

    Starting this Friday, the City of Yorkton will resume work on upgrading the traffic signals at the corner of Myrtle and Broadway. This project is part of our ongoing efforts to modernize the city's traffic management system to improve safety and efficiency for everyone.
