  • Help keep Yorkton clean

The City of Yorkton traditionally hosts an annual Spring Yard Waste Clean-Up Week. During this week, residents, community groups, school divisions, and businesses are encouraged to clean up their yards from winter debris like grass, leaves, and garbage.

    May 5 - 10, 2025

Volunteers, community groups, and individuals looking to help clean up parks, green spaces, and City gateways/entry points

Registered groups will leave their bags from designated clean up locations at the site and the City will dispose of them.

During registration, there are areas listed in the City for options to select. If you don't select an area, then one will be chosen.

    Parks
    Ditches
    Homes or Businesses

    Groups are required to bring:
    close toed shoes
    work gloves
    weather appropriate clothing

The following will be provided for all registered groups prior to clean up week:

    orientation
    safety vests
    garbage pickers
    garbage bags

This program is a curbside organics collection that runs from April 14th to November 3rd. It allows residents to dispose of yard waste like leaves and grass clippings through weekly pickup.

Starting April 1st, 2025, residents will pay an extra $2.00 per month for this service. They will receive a 95-gallon green cart for yard waste.

Food waste is not included in this program because it needs extra handling and would raise costs. The focus is on yard waste, which makes up most of the organic waste.
