No, as of 2026, any business located in Yorkton that operates on commercial or industrial property may qualify, regardless of where the owner lives.
What types of properties qualify?
Both commercial and industrial properties can qualify for the Tax Abetment.
Can the abatement be used to pay off past-due taxes?
No. To qualify, property taxes must be current. The property cannot have arrears (past-due taxes).
What happens if the property is sold?
If the property is sold or transferred, the tax abatement stays with the property and can carry over to the new owner.
