  • What is the Community Grant Program?

    The Sask Lotteries Community Grant Program assists non-profit, volunteer-led, community organizations. These organizations develop impactful and innovative sport, culture and recreation programs that meet the needs of the local community. Every year, these community grants help fund diverse programs and activities, such as:

    • Youth beading programs
    • Taekwondo clubs
    • Music camps
    • Air Cadets
    • Senior fitness classes
    • Curling
    • Swimming clubs
    • Paint nights
    • And more!

    The program is a partnership involving the Government of Saskatchewan, Sask Sport Inc., SaskCulture Inc. and the Saskatchewan Parks & Recreation Association.


    • The Sask Lotteries Trust Fund distributes lottery proceeds to eligible sport, culture and recreation organizations in Saskatchewan.
    • Every year, there are approximately 1,200 organizations that receive direct funding support and through them more than 12,000 affiliated groups benefit.

  • Eligibility

    Yes, these are eligible for the Community Grant Program:

    Must be a non-profit community organization
    Participants to benefit from the program must reside in the city
    Organization objectives must relate to sport, culture and recreation
    Facility costs are eligible for 25% of total grant or a maximum of $500 per program
    Must acknowledge Saskatchewan Lotteries within your program
    Maximum grant amount is $5,000.00
    Organization may be limited to only one grant per grant fiscal year


    No, these are not eligible for the Community Grant Program:

    Construction, renovations or repairs to buildings/facilities
    Maintenance operations
    Property taxes and insurance
    Alcoholic beverages
    Food related costs
    Membership fees
    Prizes, cash, gifts, awards, honorariums, trophies, plaques and badges
    Out of province activities and travel
    Donations
    Subsidization of wages for full time employees
    Uniforms, sweatbands, hats and other personal use items

  • How to Apply?

    All applications must be submitted 30 days before the start of your event or project.

    The deadlines to apply for the community grant program are March 1 and October 1 of each year.

    Each application will require a follow-up report form to be completed in order to receive all of your funding.
