Yorkton Accessibility Plan

In 2023 the provincial government passed The Accessible Saskatchewan Act. The goal of this legislation is to help make Saskatchewan a more accessible province for persons with disabilities. Through this Act, the City of Yorkton was required to develop an Accessibility Plan to identify and address barriers that persons with disabilities may face in our facilities, parks, and public spaces.

In 2025 the City engaged the P3Architecture Partnership to complete a review of facilities and public spaces and develop the accessibility plan. The plan outlines current barriers that persons with disabilities may, along with recommendations and high level cost estimates to address the barriers. This document will be used as a resource in project planning, and will guide how the City will align future priorities and actions to ensure accessibility considerations are consistently applied throughout our operations.
