The City of Yorkton is offering the Residential Construction Incentive again in 2026. The incentive grants a 100% tax rebate for 1-year to the owner of a new one (1), two (2), three(3), or four(4) unit dwelling constructed on a residential lot purchased from the City or a privately-owned vacant lot within the City.

  • Program Steps

    Step 1: Apply for Permits

    Get your Building Permit. No separate incentive application is required.

    Step 2: Complete the Project

    Build your home to “substantial completion” (90 days after vapour barrier approval). A letter is issued within 10 business days.

    Step 3: Tax Abatement Begins

    Your 1-year, 100% tax abatement starts January 1 after substantial completion.
