Review RC Strategies' Master an presentation for a high-level outline of the plan’s process, findings, and potential strategies.

What’s Next?

The Parks and Recreation Master Plan will act as a working document and framework to guide the City in matters related to the management and sustainability of recreation and leisure services and facilities for the next 15 years. The Master Plan is not intended to be a step-by-step guide on what facilities, amenities, or programs to introduce next. Rather, it provides evidence based insight on community wants and needs, facility user group desires, and service delivery strategies that will be used for future project consideration and planning.

During budget discussions in 2021, City Council approved funds for a Parks and Recreation Master Plan. The Master Plan will guide the development, delivery, and improvements of:
  • parks
  • sport
  • culture
  • recreation programs
  • recreation services
  • recreation facilities
Yorkton is a dynamic city and the needs and demands of the community are shifting. This Master Plan is an important tool to help the municipality manage these services.

During the Community Engagement process we:

  • hosted Community pop-up events
  • targeted resident survey
  • did an open public survey
  • targeted youth survey
  • did user group surveys
  • did user group and community stakeholder meetings
  • communicated and interacted here on the Shape Your City platform
We have completed our Community Engagement process and are working towards the Master Plan Development!

  • Hi. I'm not sure if this the right place to comment, but I would really love to see more benches on the Logan Green walking path. Please let me know if not correct. Thanks

We currently have plans to install 5 benches out there this summer.
