Yorkton Fire has a brand new fire engine, and we need your help to name it!
From November 12 to 23, Yorkton residents are invited to submit creative, meaningful, or fun name ideas for our newest fire truck.
The winning name will be revealed at a Naming & Truck Push-In Ceremony on Wednesday, November 26 at 10:30 a.m. at the Yorkton Fire Hall.
The winner will be invited to the ceremony and will receive a ride in the firetruck! 🔥
How to Enter (by Email)
Email your entry to communications@yorkton.ca during the entry window with the subject line: Fire Truck Name Contest.
Include in your email:
Proposed truck name
Your full name
Your email address (where we can contact you)
Optional: A short sentence on why you chose the name
Contest Rules
To keep things fun, fair, and family-friendly:
Eligibility: Open to Yorkton residents.
One entry per person. If multiple emails are received, only the first eligible entry will be considered.
Original & appropriate: Names must be original, family-friendly, and reflect community pride or fire-service values (e.g., bravery, teamwork, local spirit).
No restricted content: Entries that are offensive, unsafe, infringe on copyright/trademarks, or closely duplicate an earlier received entry will not be considered.
Judging: A panel from Yorkton Fire and the City will select the winning name based on creativity, originality, and fit for the new engine. In the event of similar submissions, the earliest eligible email received will take precedence.
Winner notification: The winner will be contacted by the email address used to submit the entry. If we can’t reach the winner within three (3) business days, we may select an alternate.
Publicity: By entering, you agree the City may publicly share the selected name and the winner’s first name in City communications.
Prize conditions: The firetruck ride may be subject to age/guardian permission, safety requirements, and operational availability. Details will be confirmed with the winner.
Final decision: All decisions of the judging panel are final.
Privacy: Email addresses are collected solely to administer this contest and contact the winner, in accordance with applicable privacy requirements.
