Façade and Site Improvements Incentive Program
The City of Yorkton’s Façade and Site Improvement Incentive Program is designed to help commercial and industrial business owners with beautification and improvements to the appearance and functionality of their buildings and sites. The program supports projects that strengthen the look and vitality of the business and industrial districts, while encouraging broader economic growth across the city.

Eligible Improvements
The following improvements are eligible for funding:
Awnings
Canopies
Lighting replacement
Parking lot lighting
Trash enclosures
Brick cleaning and repair
Painting
Façade restoration/improvements
Barrier-free accessibility
Landscaping
Parking lot resurfacing (must include storm water management)
Curbing
Signage
Sidewalks/Walkways
Decorative fencing
Professional design for eligible improvements (up to $1,000)The following improvements Maybe eligible if combined with other improvements:

❌ Attorney fees
❌ Any item paid for with services or merchandise instead of money -
Program Steps
Step 1: Apply Online
Complete the online application. You will need to attached the following to your application:
- Cost estimates or quotes from contractors,
- A description of your proposed improvements, and
- Drawings or a mock-up of your proposed improvements.
Step 2: City Approval
The City reviews your application and sends an approval letter.
Step 3: Complete the Improvements
After approval, complete the approved façade and/or site improvements. (Development and/or Building permits may be required).
Step 4: Pay Invoices
Ensure all invoices are paid in full.
Step 5: Submit Invoices and Proof of Payment
Send invoices and proof of payment (e.g., a $0 balance invoice, receipt, or statement showing the paid amount).
Step 6: Big Cheque presentation
The City will contact you to arrange a big cheque photo.

Façade and Site Improvements Incentive Program is currently at this stageThe online application form will open on April 14, 2026 at 8:00 a.m.

Applications Are Reviewed
this is an upcoming stage for Façade and Site Improvements Incentive ProgramApplications are reviewed and approved in the order they are received (first come, first served).
Approval letters are emailed within 10 business days.
Important: Work cannot begin until you receive your approval letter (and any required permits).

Funding Limit
this is an upcoming stage for Façade and Site Improvements Incentive ProgramApplications are accepted until the program reaches $115,000.
Once the funding cap is reached, new applications will be placed on a waitlist.

Project Completion and Payment
this is an upcoming stage for Façade and Site Improvements Incentive ProgramSubmit all receipts and paid invoices when your project is complete to receive funding.
All improvements must be completed and receipts must be submitted by October 31 in order to be guaranteed funding.
We will arrange a cheque presentation complete with the Mayor and a Big Cheque within 10–15 business days of submission (don’t worry—we will also bring the “real cheque”).

Annual Program Wrap Up
this is an upcoming stage for Façade and Site Improvements Incentive ProgramAfter November 1, any leftover funds will be distributed to applicants on the waitlist who have completed their projects and submitted all receipts.
Approved projects that are not completed in the current year may roll over to the next year if funding is available.
